LED Grow Lights Boost Cannabis Quality and Yields at Silver State Relief

My name is Sonny Newman and I’m the owner of Silver State Cultivation, Silver State Relief, here in Sparks, Nevada. A few years
back when a good friend of mine Brian Sandoval, the governor of the state of Nevada, decided
that he was going to sign cannabis to be legal for medical purposes, I decided that I was
going to throw my hat in the ring and put together our application, submit it to the
state of Nevada and this is what has happened two and a half years later. Currently, I have 158,000 square feet of grow facility. We’ve built our first phase of eight phas es out. It’s about 15,000 square feet
and our intentions are to fill this entire 158,000 square feet with propagation and flower
rooms. We are growing 100% of the flower that we sell at Silver State Relief. Our current
demands are about 5 lbs per day. So somewhere around 150 lbs a month and we’re keeping up
with that demand using the LumiGrow lights here at Silver State Cultivation. We’re seeing the results we’re getting out
of the LED. We’re ditching the HPS lights as fast as we possibly can; replenishing them
with the LumiGrow LED lights. We’ve done harvest of just HPS rooms, LED rooms, hybrid rooms
using both HPS and LED rooms and the yields are pretty close to being the same across
the board in all the rooms. But we are noticing that the quality of the flower coming out
of the LED rooms is way superior than the quality of flowers coming out of just the
HPS rooms. Currently we’re using the LumiGrow 650s, the high-voltage version. They require about 550 watts. So right there is a 45% savings just in the power alone of running the lights. Our THC levels are higher than anyone in the state. Our terpene levels in our flower are higher than anyone in the state and our numbers at
our dispensary are proof that we are doing something right and it’s incredible. In the beginning, our consultant and some
of the pros that we had been talking to said that the cannabis consumers out there, whether
it be medical or on a recreational level, they’re not ready for LED and that they can tell the difference of the flower by looking at it. That has not been the case whatsoever.
We have never had one person come through our facility of over 5,000 customers a month
we’re currently doing, that has said you guys are growing this product with LED or HPS.
There’s never been a comment. We’ve been open for almost 9 months now. My name is Daniel Hopper. I’m the cultivation
manager here at Silver State Relief. I got my Ph.D. here at the University of Nevada
– Reno in plant biochemistry. Here at Silver State Relief we use a lot of
LumiGrow Pro 650 lights in both the vegetative stage and the flowering stage and we’ve had
great success with both. We’ve really shown here, in particular, that you can grow incredibly
healthy, incredibly vigorous plants at any stage, even cutting. We have some rooms that are full LED that
are just dedicated to LED rooms. And we have some rooms that are checkerboard with half
and half LED and HPS. Now that allowed us in the design phase to go with lower tonnage
on our HVAC. Just to give you an example, we have forty LED lights and we’re using a
10-ton unit to control the heat load with those lights and the burners and all that
sort of stuff. In comparison, we probably would have needed at least a 20-ton unit with the same number of high-pressure sodium lights. That’s one of the big questions that everyone
asks when they come in – what are your yields like? How do the yields compare to traditional
high-pressure sodium? And obviously yields is going to depend a lot on the strain and
things like that, but we’ve been able to do some comparisons between the full-LED and
the full-HPS and the yields are either identical or greater in the LED rooms. Which is nice
because we’re getting the same exact yield with about half of the wattage. Another thing that we have noticed as well
is that the terpene and cannabinoid profiles are higher in the full-LED compared to the
full-HPS rooms. We’ve done a number of strains under both conditions and pretty consistently,
we’ve found that we get better numbers yield wise and also with cannabinoid and terpene
profiles under full-LEDs. In 5 to 10 years, I wouldn’t be surprised
if it’s mainly LED. It is funny because you start to look at some of the high-pressure
sodium ballasts that are coming out and I’ve even seen some that recommend putting an HPS
next to a halide because they are finding that you can get a little more blue from the
halide and you’ll still get some red from your HPS. They’re even starting to see the
fact that you want a lot of red and a lot of blue. It’s so much easier with LED to get
those spectrum of light. And as far as LED goes, I would highly recommend LumiGrow for
multiple reasons. It’s not just the lights, it’s the entire support team at LumiGrow.
It’s the research team, that’s turning out all this awesome research that is going to
be available to any LumiGrow user. It’s going to help bring cannabis out of the
shadows, more or less. You know, there’s some actual really good research going on that’s
not only going to help cannabis but really any plant. The more we understand about plants
and how certain processes in the plants are working; it’s typically pretty applicable
to all plants.

  1. Hey, nice channel and great advice. I recently started growing and Iโ€™m going around subbing every grow channel I come across.. check out my channel and comment . thanks #growerslove

  3. I can tell by the light reflected off the dried and cured bud what light it was grown with but I'm just a sommelier connoisseur when it comes to cannabis

  4. +LumiGrow lighting This video is whats up!!! ITS NUCKIN FUTS!! LOL!!! FINALLY SOME CANNABIS VIDEOS!!! WE are living in the Jetson's era!! Lol!! This video is bonkers!!! Insanely badass video. Thankyou for the up-load lumigrow!!! Are you hiring for marketing? I will take the cannabis complex to THE GRANDMASTER LEVEL!!! NOT KIDDING!!! HAHAHA!!! We've had the honor of using lumigrow lighting for years and years now and not another light can compare.

  5. how long did you veg for these strains? and how much yield do you typically produce off of 1 650pro fixture and how many plants under the lights for that yield? I know strains are different and produce different yields but what's the estimate expectancy under 1

  6. Thanks for the motivation. I'm using 1 spectrum king 400+ led and I've talked to alot of grow shops that said im wasted my money. Ive come up with the conclusion is they don't want to sell led because then they can't sell light bulbs. Your led grow is amazing

  7. Two things get white rhino buds and second expand ya medical facilities to Australia qld so we can have legal medical weed this sux get so jelous of usa and legal country's who can smoke help us usa please aha

  8. Old rich dude whoโ€™s friends with the governed gets inside knowledge of when weed is legal…..yep sounds like America

  9. one random but important question I cant seem to find an answer to:
do you have to be a licensed grower and seller to be growing as much as you want/can legally? does it need be a company or is that a different license? because I've heard that you can only have up to 6 plants at home in legal states, which is pretty lame. I would just love to know where and how you can grow as much as you want legally on this planet without any problems. does anyone know?

  10. Yeah buddy gr8 content really would like to check this out in person

Who the fuck uses HPS anymore??? I wouldn't use an HPS if you paid my electrical bill… the HLG 600H r spec and HLG 360 elites… and the rapid led cree cobs .. I'll take anyone on in a grow off theese days and I think I'm the best grower in the world… but in actually fact I know its Horticulture Lighting Group that's the best in the world… top 10 anyways.

But I do prefer the Samsung diode on a QB to flower…. you get superior intensity and evenness. Your not gonna beat them very easily. Notable mention goes to Spectrum King, Next light, and Blackdog LED. Shout out to Cree USA and rapid LED. Also to Ledgrowlightdepot.com.. they rock.

  12. Eye hortilux 2k… 258.00$ tops. Lumigrow….. Thousands. I can buy enough hps too flower a 20ร—20 room ballast and hood included for the price of 3 of those. Im pisses that the best light the average joe can buy is a next light. But we will rock that 4ร—4 to the best.of our abilities.

  13. Shut up with your sells pitching and do some up-close shots of your trichomes and terps bru. It speaks a thousand words how every time there was an up-close shot they edited in some effects that made it hard to see. YOU CAN"T FOOL ME. These are the 1% devils who are polluting meds with their large production of synthetics. All that money spent and his harvest hanging in the background looks pretty shitty. I am willing to bet this farm is in some states like Montana or Idaho. Also, Lumigrow is GARBAGE. I was planning on upgrading from Electric Sky E300's but after reading the plethora of horrid testimonies from the client and the most important past and present employees. My advice stays more than 1,000 yards away from these billionaire financed synthetic farms and the products they sell. Compare these wanna doctors with lab coats to the cats in Northern Cali growing organically OUTDOOR in 500-gallon pots. These guys crack me up with lab coats looking like they are cloning human beings. Mendo Dope after winning the Cannabis Cup was raided and the government even its 100% legal in Cali. They took 636 lbs of his outdoor top shelf that were ready for harvest and these lab coat devils can use their 1,000 acres million-dollar farms to market their lights on VIDEO. STOP SUPPORTING these fockers. All they care about is sells meaning sooner or later these are the devils that will put tar, gun powder, nicotine "poisens" etc like they did with tobacco. You want some dope LEDs check out the par readings for the ES300. The par reading at all sides is better than this crap here.
